The “yesterday me” definitely procrastinated when it came to exercise and eating healthy .  It’s hard work , why would I want to add MORE work to my day 🤔?! .
Now, after over two years into this #fitnesslifestyle , I don’t look at it like that .... in fact , the minute my eyes open I’m so excited 🎉😄to put that hard work into my body and reap the benefits , but now I procrastinate rest days💪🙌

Oh don’t get me wrong , I still put things off , but only stuff like cleaning out the attic , or sanding and painting a small section of ceiling that was patched a year ago 😳, or organizing the messy garage and planning a date for a garage sale 😫, or getting my daughter’s necklace fixed that broke 10 months ago , or researching and buying a threshold piece for the floor after my bath remodel 2 years ago (still have a space in the floor 🤷🏻‍♀️) or training one of our  dogs not to jump on people when they come over 🐕 (she’ll be 4 years old next month lol ) You know, that list that sits around and you just keep avoiding doing those things because you don’t really WANT to do them⁉️😉. Scratch health and fitness off that To Do List ( #everydaycounts )and don’t worry about all the other crap 💩 🤣! #badinfluence 😳

It’s so amazing to see how much of a positive influence these mumma’s are having on their kids.

I’m loving the mums coming to class telling me their little ones are doing squats, trying push up and other exercises ‘like mummy does’
💚
We are our kids biggest teachers. Teaching them to have a good relationship with food, to love to exercise and have a positive mindset is priceless.

It’s not easy trying to juggle work, family and training, but these mumma’s are kicking goals and setting such good examples to their kids 💚

Oggi a pranzo si torna decisamente più in riga ma con cose che comunque mi piacciono. I receive multiple messages each day asking for advice and tips on dieting, breaking habits or how to go about healthier living.

Most recent really struck me as I felt many dad's in a similar situation would benefit from what I wrote back to him.

His dilemma was that his partner left him after 21 years, for reasons being that he lost his way became lazy and gained a lot of weight. He was down, and admitted feeling depressed

He said he was confused on what to do with all the information on 'diets' and 'workouts' and was confused.
(A confused mind never starts anything)

My response (please read):

First up, the reason you're here is your 'why'. You won't know this just yet but you're going to have some really shitty days doing this.
Your 'why' is the light at the end of the tunnel that will guide you in your darkest days, always try to focus on that.

Secondly, you will definitely need to monitor dietary intake. 
Try no to go down the route of a fixed diet method, calories are calories. If you over consume on say keto you will not lose fat. That is fact.... Personally I would start you off by cleaning your nutrition up, (exchange processed foods for whole foods) increase your activity - step count; by 3000 step daily and train at the gym. NO CARDIO (for the time being). Reason for this is you will need 'wiggle' room to adjust activity/cardio/nutrition when your body plateaus, which it will at some stage. Again this is facts!

What can be monitored, can be measured!

If you lost 1 lb on average per week for a year, research suggests you are likely to keep it off.
52 lbs in a year is a huge achievement, and one that will serve you the rest of your life.

52 lbs in 16 weeks sounds awesome, but realistically chances are it won't stay off.

The more aggressive you are while dieting the higher chance you have of rebounding (gaining it back after diet ends). READ THAT AGAIN!! See the bigger picture, you have the rest of your life to change your lifestyle, not just a perceived timeframe in your head.

Besides, how pissed will your ex be when she sees you looking amazing (and hopefully) with another more deserving woman on your arm?

Let’s look at the word ‘diet’ first. The word ‘diet’ comes from the Greek word ‘diaita’ which was a noun that meant ‘a way of living’. Today the word means: ‘the kinds of food that a person habitually eats’. This means (sorry to bring the news) that everyone has a certain diet. Your lifestyle IS your diet. That’s why I don’t understand why people say that ‘diets don’t work’. That is just wrong to say or you just don’t understand the meaning of the word🤷‍♂️

Luckily I can understand what they try to say as the verb ‘dieting’ means that a person restricts oneself (often) in order to lose weight. So instead of saying; ‘diets don’t work’ (which is completely wrong) they could have said; ‘dieting doesn’t work’. This comes a little bit closer even though it’s still incorrect👇🏻❗️

I think that what they try to say is; ‘Extreme irresponsible dieting on extreme low calories on a daily basis RARELY work because those who successfully lose weight with that rarely keep that weight off🤔 Now this is correct. Still you will not hear me saying they ‘don’t work’ but they indeed rarely work due to its lack of sustainability💪🏼

Just a lil post to acknowledge how well I’m doing ✨

You’ve always always got to appreciate yourself and be proud of every little achievement. I’ve been sticking to #healthylifestyle #diet for a few weeks now and feel great‼️ It’s not about being strict ❌ and “only being able to eat salads” 🥗. It’s about being REAL and living in REALITY. It’s not as easy as all the famous people and pages make out because they have endless time where as, if you’re like me, you work all week and have plans all the bloody time haha, but you’ve got this just like I do. It’s about finding the balance, having all food groups in your meals, ENJOYING your food. 
Your happiness is so important for your health to be at it’s best. I have the same breakfast everyday because I LOVE IT and I WANT TO, I have similar lunches and dinners most days because I LOVE IT and I WANT TO, and guess what. I HAVE BIG FAT CHEAT MEALS EVERY SATURDAY NIGHT BECAUSE I LOVE IT AND I WANT TO 👑. Put yourself, your body, mind and happiness first and you’ll see an instant difference. (Primarily smith rack) leg day ✨✨ This is my first day back in like ~4 weeks after going to LA 😭 so my first set (form) is a little wonky. 
1) unilateral RDLs (to warm and wake up those gloooooots)
2) single leg squats (idk the technical name but these are comparable to squatting a lil more than 2x your body weight without the pressure on your back) 
3) sumo smith rack deads
4) RDL w dumbbells 
We also pyramid (so increasing the weight each set). Everything according to 4x8-12

Here’s a clip of youth 🏀athletes 14&12 conducting a reverse Lunge variation to improve their balance, stabilization and vertical power while on the right I have a D1 lacrosse athlete doing a progression of the same movement that requires ALOT more stabilization and power to carry out with proper mechanics. Be smart with your training and don’t force an athlete to do a drill that they can’t carry out functionally, well unless you want them to increase chances of injuries🤷🏾‍♂️

I have recently hired a nutrition coach for myself and after only less than a week, it has already proven to be worthwhile investment. But why? I’ve been a personal trainer for going on 5 years, I’ve a sound knowledge of what my body requires to perform well and how I can manipulate my diet to get the results I want and I’m half way through my MSc in Nutrition, why would I need a nutrition coach?

Three good reasons:
-
Accountability - because we are not always as good at putting what we know we should be doing into practice.
-
Support - because my job is to support others and their goals, it’s nice to have someone else worry about mine.
-
Knowledge - because there is ALWAYS something you can learn from other people, no matter how much you already know. People have had different experiences, therefore have acquired different knowledge and developed different skill sets. I’m simply buying more tools for my already substantial tool kit.

1/2 cup soy milk
2 tsp apple cider vinegar 
1 cup spelt flour
1/3 cup cacao powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
pinch salt
1/2 cup coconut sugar
1 flax egg (1 tbsp flax meal mixed with 3 tbsp water)
1/4 coconut oil melted
Extra mylk if necessary

Method:

1. Preheat Oven 160C/320F.

2. In a bowl mix together the mylk and apple cider vinegar.  In another bowl combine the dry ingredients, then add in all of the remaining wet ingredients including the soy mylk and ACV mix, and stir to combine. The mix should run easily off a spoon but still hold its shape, add more mylk if the mix is too thick.

3. Spoon out 2 tsp sized mounds onto a lined baking tray, leaving 2 inches between each round, once all of the mix is used, bake for 10 - 15 minutes, or until they've risen slightly and a skewer inserted comes out clean.  Assemble with the whipped cream filling!

Cream Filling:
1 cup ‘Coyo’ coconut yoghurt: whip with an electric beater until thick and holds its shape

3 tbsp vegan store bought caramel or make your own (below) stir through the whipped cream.

2 tbsp coconut oil
3 tbsp coconut sugar
2 tbsp maple syrup 
2 tbsp cashew or almond butter

Capitulating to the idea of death has never been an option for me. But when imminent mortality remains a possibility, the lens in which you view life through changes rather immediately, almost against your will. You suddenly appreciate everything you’ve ever taken for granted and feel guilty for having overlooked those things in the first place. You think about what you want most in this life and ponder if you will ever have them in your grasp. Your life flashes before you; both all the things you’ve done and all the things you’ve yet to do. You start asking yourself if you’ve done enough and been enough. You question if you’ve really given back or made any impact in this world. You feel as though you must take advantage of every present moment, regardless of how fleeting it may be, and savor it…relish in it. There’s an internal pressure to cling to any and every juncture or person that brings you even a modicum of joy because tomorrow is no longer a guarantee and your entire life can change in an instant. Which sounds cliché, but clichés exist for a reason and you don’t understand the gravity of them until you’re faced with obstacles in which they emerged from. The very framework that you have been hardwired to think for your entire life is challenged and flipped upside down. Everything, and I mean everything, that you thought you knew is now brought into question.

At least this has all been true for me. I have all the questions and none of the answers. I don’t have a clue as to why I’m being challenged in this way. I haven’t yet seen the reason or the purpose for this obstacle in my life. I’m not at all certain as to what this is teaching me, yet. But I am confident that the answers to my endless questions will reveal themselves in due time. The only thing that is unequivocal to me, is that I am being gifted a lifetime of perspective that I would have otherwise never received. There is a lot of power in perception. At least this has all been true for me. I have all the questions and none of the answers. I don’t have a clue as to why I’m being challenged in this way. I haven’t yet seen the reason or the purpose for this obstacle in my life. I’m not at all certain as to what this is teaching me, yet. But I am confident that the answers to my endless questions will reveal themselves in due time. The only thing that is unequivocal to me, is that I am being gifted a lifetime of perspective that I would have otherwise never received. There is a lot of power in perception. It’s something that is impossible to obstruct and can only be relinquished. There is nothing that can strip that from me.
